Be a good Watchman

I was in Show Low yesterday for the 2nd funeral in as many weeks.  Nothing gets me to examine my own life like watching others go through that experience.  I keep hearing Hebrews 9:27, "Just as man is destined to die once, and after that to face judgement..." This time, the examination revealed something a little different.  I am secure in my own salvation through God's grace and His promise.  But what how am I doing with His mission of saving the lost?

This morning, I opened my bible to where I am for my devotion time.  Ezekiel, chapter 33, which talks about the "watchman".

The Command: "So you, son of man: I have made you a watchman for the house of Israel; therefore you shall hear a word from My mouth and warn them for Me." (Ezekiel 33:7)

God's Heart: "Say to them; 'As I live,' says the Lord God, 'I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked, but that the wicked turn from his way and live.  Turn, turn from your evil ways! For why should you die, O house of Israel?'" (Ezekiel 33:11)

My prayer today? To be a good Watchman.  To have boldness and desire to warn the non-believers around me to turn from their evil ways.  To pray for them earnestly, that God's Spirit would breath live into their hearts.
