Reading: Psalms 1
'Getting Counsel'

"How blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked,
Nor stand in the path of sinners, nor sit in the seat of scoffers! But his
delight is in the law of the Lord, and in His law he meditates day and night". Ps 1:1-2
The source of our counsel directs and influences us in every single area of our lives. The Psalmist tells us that we are blessed if we stay away from counsel from the wicked.  But how many of us have purposefully hung around wicked evil people, probably not many, if any. But, how much time do we spend around godless, worldly friends, colleagues or media? Are the messages we constantly hear honoring and glorifying God or deifying man? Are we saturated in the Truth of God's Word, or the relativism of the secular world? As followers of Christ, we are in the world
BUT, we are not of the world. Well, what makes the difference? The Psalmist gives the answer in verse 2. If we delight in God's Word and meditate on it continually we will be able to overcome the lies with Truth. In this we will be truly blessed.
Lord, continually give me opportunities to share the Truth of your Word
to those who do not know you and have been filled with the lies of this world.
