'Choosing Ill-treatment'
" By faith Moses, when he had grown up, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh's daughter, choosing rather to endure ill-treatment with the people of God than to enjoy the passing pleasures of sin, considering the reproach of  Christ greater riches than the treasures of Egypt; for he was looking to the   reward. By faith he left Egypt, not fearing the wrath of the king; for he endured, as seeing Him who is unseen."
I do not know anyone in their right mind who would choose ill-treatment. This passage tells us that Moses "Refused to be called the son of Pharaoh's daughter".  I ask myself why Moses refused the glory and the power of Egypt. He would live the life of a pharaoh, never having to worry about anyone or anything. The scripture states he 'chose...to endure ill-treatment', and he considered, "the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures of Egypt". It was not so with the people he led out of Egypt. All they had in their mind were the things that brought them pleasure. Look at what Numbers records.   "We remember the fish which we used to eat free in Egypt, the cucumbers and the melons and the leeks and the onions and the garlic, but now our appetite is gone. There is nothing at all to look at except this manna." (Num 11:5-6)   You see, they did not see what Moses saw, "Him who is unseen".
My Lord and My God, may I keep in mind and always consider,
That pain and the reproach of Christ carries with it Great Reward.
