"When I look at your heavens, the work
of your fingers,
the moon and the stars, which you
have set in place,
what is man that you are mindful of him,
and the son of man that you care for
him?
Seeing the moon in the sky reminds me that I am very small. Who am I in this great universe that God would come to me and allow me to know him personally? Who am I to doubt Him and question what He has brought into my life at times? I am very small and weak and scared and faithless and disobedient and yet despite all of this God loves me. David goes on to say this in verse 5
"Yet you have made him a little lower
than the heavenly beings
and crowned him with glory and
honor."
I'm not sure why, but God loves me and cares for me and knows me and has a perfect plan for me. I don't need to be scared or worried. I don't need to dwell on my mistakes, but rather trust in His love for me because of Jesus and fix my eyes on Him.
So go look at the moon tonight(I'm sure it will still be there) and remember that God loves you.
