“…whose heart stirred him…” Ex 35:21 “…whose heart moved them…” Ex 35:22
“…whose heart stirred…” Ex 35:26 “…whose heart moved them…” Ex 35:29
I am sure you have heard the statement, “It’s a heart issue” many times. I know when I have hear that statement it usually centered in obedience. Ex 35, is a good example for what it looks like when people are moved to obedience by their heart. In verses 4 & 5, Moses relays a message from the Lord to the Israelites to fix up the Tabernacle. Their response was very interesting because Moses did not manipulate them, or put pressure on them, nor was there a contest. Their overwhelming response to the Lord’s message was the result of their hearts being stirred and moved, verses 21, 22, 26 and 29. I mention overwhelming, because Ex 36:6 says they “were restrained from bringing anymore.” Is that an amazing response or what?
When I read the Bible, do I respond by obeying His Word? It’s a heart issue.
Father, please help me to have an Ephesians 6:6 heart, “not with eye service, as men-pleasers, but as slaves of Christ, doing the will of God from the heart.”
