"Put your money where your mouth is". How many of you have heard that statement? Maybe it isn't used much any more, but for me it meant a couple things: Do what you say you'll do, act like you believe, follow through with your promises.
Our testimony is super important for the mission of reaching the lost and dying world. As God bring the unbelievers into our lives, He uses His children (that's you and me) to be examples to others. The problem is, our example isn't always good. Your life and actions are a big part of your testimony, good and bad. How people view you and your faith is sometimes more about how you act and not what you say.
This concept is front row in my life this morning as I write this. I received a change in assignment at work late yesterday out of the blue. I'm leaving an assignment I absolutely loved and was having great success with a good team and moving into an environment I despise with people I quite frankly don't care to be around. I've been praying that God would move His Spirit in me to catch up with my heart and fix the ugly in it right now. I truly believe that God orchestrated this move for my good and His GLORY. I truly believe that He has a purpose in all that I do and experience. I struggle, like you, when those experiences don't align with my own ideas or desires.
My testimony in the next few days will be unspoken for sure. Those around me who know that I place my trust in Jesus will be carefully watching to see how I conduct myself with this transition. I could easily destroy that testimony with a bad attitude. Time to put my actions where my faith is!
